Volunteer Opportunties
Our Volunteer Opportunities offer meaningful ways to support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their person-centered goals. Volunteers work alongside Direct Support Professionals to enhance services, not replace them, by providing additional mentorship, encouragement, and assistance. Activities may include supporting someone in improving literacy, creating a resume or cover letter, exploring post-secondary education options, connecting with community groups, or practicing independent living and vocational skills.
Volunteers play a vital role in helping individuals build confidence, social connections, and real-world competencies in inclusive, community-based settings. Whether it’s assisting with daily life tasks or encouraging educational and professional growth, volunteers help extend the reach of our mission while learning valuable skills themselves. These experiences not only enrich the lives of those we serve but also foster a greater understanding of equity, inclusion, and human potential.
At Breaking Barriers, we welcome those looking to give back, grow professionally, or fulfill community service or clinical hour requirements. If you’re passionate about inclusion, empowerment, and making a difference, we invite you to connect with us and become part of a movement that puts people first.
